Change the teacher of a student/course

What: To change the teacher on a booking by adding the new teacher from a certain date and removing the old teacher from the booking.

Why: To quickly and accurately update teachers on a course or student, either permanently or for a specific period.

How: This function is completed via the booking. There are two different ways to do this, depending on whether all students in the booking are going to change teachers or only some.

Changing teachers on a booking

First find the booking under “Resource” and then “Booking” or alternatively you can find it by clicking on the booking in the current teacher's schedule and on the pencil to edit the booking.

Make sure that you're in the correct week that you want the change to take effect from and that the blue switch button is on to “Include future bookings”. *

  1. Click the “Teachers” tab.
  2. Click to Add Teacher.

In the box that appears:

  1. Select the name of the new teacher
  2. Click “Add selected and continue.”

  3. In the next step, click "Show in activity" and then “Submit”

  4. Click on the bin next to the original teacher's name to remove them from the booking.

  5. The student is now in the new teacher's schedule from the date you selected
  6. You may also need to go to the “Tuition Info” and change the booking owner. If the old teacher remains listed as the booking owner, the booking will continue to appear in that teacher's schedule.

Change teachers on certain students in a booking

If there are only one or a few students in a booking who are going to change teachers, you have two options.

Option 1: Within a booking

If only some students in a booking need to change teacher, you can move the students directly within the booking.
To do this, you need the user right MANAGE_ALL_BOOKINGS. If you have this right, you will see the buttons 'Move student(s)' and 'Copy student(s)' under the 'Students' tab in the booking. See the guide 'Moving students between courses (same fee) – SpeedAdmin guides'. 

Option 2: New booking

  1. Click to create a time slot in the new teachers schedule.
  2. Choose the option “Create Tuition”
  3. Fill in all the information required in the different fields

  4. Specifying how you would like students to sign up 

  5. And if there should be an age range on the course. When all the information is entered and correct click “Save”. This session is now visible in the new teachers schedule. The last step is to move students across from the previous teacher to the new one.

  6. Navigate to the original teachers schedule and find the booking that contains the students that are moving.
  7. Click the 3 dots on the booking and select “Move student(s)”
  8. Drag and drop the students who are moving to the new booking. 

 

 After changing the teacher on a booking, the booking may still appear in the old teacher’s schedule because they remain the booking owner; update the booking owner in the “Course Info” tab to remove it from the previous teacher’s schedule.
