Setting default contact details for students and guardians

What: The 'Message Overview' is available on the school profile page and provides students and guardians with access to contact details for the school and the teachers related to the student.

Why: This feature ensures that students and guardians can quickly find the contact information they are most likely to need, such as the school office or a teacher connected to one of the student’s courses.

How:

School contact details

Step 1: Set a default school

Go to 'Resources', 'School/Venue' and open the school profile page.
Click the star icon to mark the school as the default school:

 

 

Note: Only one school can be marked as the default at a time.

 

Step 2: Add school contact information

Make sure that all neccessary contact details are filled out in the school profile, email address, phone number and address. These details will be shown in the 'Message Overview' for students and guardians.

Teachers contact details

Students and guardians can see teachers they have a link to through courses or similar connections.
The 'Message Overview' will always display:

• Teacher name
• Subject
• Related student

Step 1: Ensure access to teacher contact details

Teacher contact details are only visible if the student and/or guardian has the following right enabled:

'View – SAP – Teacher personal details'

 

 

If a user has multiple connections to the same teacher, the teacher is only shown once. All related courses and students will appear as a detailed separated list.

Step 2: Hide details

If a superuser or a teacher does not want to share specific contact details with students or guardians, this can be controlled from the teacher’s profile.
Click on the eye next to the information to hide it (for example, phone number).Hidden details will not be visible in the 'Message Overview.'
