Changing the fee on a course

What does this function mean?

That you can replace the fee for a subject with another fee.

Why should I use this function?

You can use this function if a specific subject has been assigned the wrong fee or should receive a new fee. For example, if a subject is to be made free of charge or has been free of charge and should now have a fee.

Note: If you want to increase or decrease the fee for all subjects that use a particular fee (for example, as part of a general fee increase), follow the "Create/adjust fee" guide instead.

How do I change the fee on a subject?

  • If the new fee does not already exist in the system, you need to start by creating it. Then follow the guide "Create/adjust fee".
  • If the new fee exists in the system, do the following:
  • Find the subject under 'Resources' ->'Courses;
  • Click on 'Courses'
  • Click on the course you want to adjust the fee for
  • Find the 'fee/title' you want and click the 3 dots
  • Click on "Update fee"
  • Find the new fee you have created in the 'New fee' dropdown.
  • In the box 'Update existing bookings'
    - Tick the box if students already added in bookings linked to the subject should receive the new fee
    - Leave the box empty if students already added should keep the old fee while new students added will receive the new fee
  • When you are done, click "Update fee"

Frequently asked questions

I forgot to tick the box "Update existing bookings". How do I now ensure that students who were already in a booking linked to the subject receive the new fee?

Then you need to change the fee manually for each affected student:

  • Go to the student’s record
  • Here you can see that the student still has the old fee as it is now marked with a green border and a dollar sign
  • To change the fee for the students, follow the guide "Change fee on student".
