This guide will show you how to create school contacts in your database, add them to their schools and decide their access rights.
Once your Schools have been created (or imported) in your database, you are then able to add the contacts for your schools. These could be classroom teachers/music contacts, Finance, or Senior Management staff etc.
Creating Relation types for your contacts (Settings > Relation type)
The relation type refers to the different relationships a contact person and/or user of SpeedAdmin has with your service. This could also refer to their role within their school/organisation (e.g., Head teacher, Music Co-ordinator, Bursar etc.).
When entering the Relation type section, you will see the default SpeedAdmin types:
You can select ‘Edit’ to change the names of the existing types.
Creating a new Relation type:
- Select the free field below the existing entries and set the name for the new relation type.
- Select ‘Insert’ to save the new relation type.
- Repeat as required for other relation types.
Once you have created your Relation types, you can then use these when creating new contacts for your schools.
Creating a new School Contact (Search > School)
1. Search for and select the school you would like to add a contact to – remember, you can also search for the school via Super search:
2. On the school’s Contact tab, select Create new user:

Top tip – You can use the ‘green person’ icon to log in as a specific user. This is a great way to navigate SpeedAdmin as a school contact to double-check what they can view and edit!
When you are happy with the school contact access set-up, you can then send an email to the user with the merge-field "Login information" that will give them their username and link to create password.
